Director & Financial Adviser
Paul has over 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry, having previously worked as a Financial Adviser and Area Manager for a large insurance company. Prior to this, he spent two years at Chartered Trust Bank in Cardiff. In 2008, Paul established Vale and now also serves as the firm’s Compliance Officer.
Paul lives in Barry with his two children and, outside of work, still enjoys playing football for his local team.
Director & Chartered Financial Planner
Joseph joined Vale in April 2019, having previously worked in support and analytical roles within the financial services profession, where he gained valuable knowledge and experience. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), the highest qualification awarded in financial planning by the CII, demonstrating his commitment, professionalism, and high level of expertise. Joseph is also actively involved in supporting the next generation of advisers through his role with the South Wales Personal Finance Society. Outside of work, Joseph enjoys playing five-a-side football, going to the gym, and travelling with his fiancée.
Financial Adviser
Andrew is a highly experienced Financial Adviser who has worked in the financial services profession since 1989, beginning his career with CIS before gaining further experience as a Financial Adviser with the Co-operative Bank. In October 2008, Andrew co-founded Vale. He lives in Llantrisant and outside of work, enjoys supporting Tottenham Hotspur and travelling with his wife.
Chartered Financial Planner
Oliver joined Vale Independent Financial Advisers in July 2015 and has worked in the financial services profession for over 15 years. As a Pension Transfer Specialist, he is a highly valued member of the team, providing expert knowledge and support to clients. Outside of work, Oliver enjoys challenging himself through endurance events and has completed Ironman competitions, triathlons, and marathons. He is married and has three children.
Chartered Financial Adviser
Geoff has been a Financial Adviser since 2006 and joined Vale in 2008 from the Co-operative Insurance Society. Prior to this, he worked in Cardiff as a Legal Analyst, giving him a strong background in both financial and analytical services. Geoff is married with two sons and lives in the Vale of Glamorgan. Outside of work, he enjoys spending his spare time playing golf.
Financial Adviser
Jon has been a Financial Adviser since 1991 and has gained extensive experience working for both a large insurance company and a major bank before joining Vale in March 2014.He is married with four daughters and lives in North Cornelly. Outside of work, Jon enjoys walking his dog, watching a wide range of sports, and spending time running his vineyard, where he produces his own wine, ‘Four Daughters, Llampagne’.
Financial Adviser
Ian has been with Vale since 2011. Prior to joining the firm, he enjoyed a successful 18-year career with the Co-operative Insurance Society, including roles within the Co-operative Bank across its Newport, Cwmbran, and Pontypool branches. Ian lives in Newport and is a keen sportsman. He is also a dedicated Cardiff City season ticket holder.

Paul initially started his career in banking prior to what seemed a natural progression into Financial Planning when joining the Co-operative Insurance Society in 1995. Paul moved from tied advice to whole of market advice when joining Monmouthshire Independent Financial Advisers in January 2007, later bringing his knowledge and skills to Vale Independent Financial Advisers in 2011.
Financial Adviser
Jon joined Vale in November 2011 following 19 years with the Co-operative Insurance Society, which included roles within the Co-operative Insurance Society across its Cardiff, Newport, Cwmbran, and Pontypool branches. Jon lives in Cardiff with his wife and two daughters. Outside of work, he enjoys spending quality time with his family travelling in their touring caravan.
Mortgage Adviser
After 10 years working for a High Street bank, Owain has been involved within the mortgage and protection advice field for the past 5 years. He has a passion for helping people get on the property ladder, buying their dream home or in more recent times looking to help people save money across their finances. Owain enjoys creating solutions to support his clients’ aspirations. Outside of work, Owain enjoys spending time with his partner and son, walks with his golden labrador, Thor, and consuming as much sport as humanly possible!
Administration
Angharad joined Vale in 2017 and previously worked in the banking industry for over 15 years. She provides valuable administrative support to our advisers, helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the business and delivering excellent service to our clients. Angharad lives locally with her husband and two daughters and is also a Welsh speaker. Outside of work, Angharad enjoys walking, watching sports, socialising with friends and family, and travelling the world with her husband.
Administration
Emma joined Vale in 2012 following 5 years working for the Yorkshire Building Society. She provides valuable administrative support to our advisers, helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the business and delivering excellent service to our clients. Outside of work, Emma is a keen horse rider and enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
